We are a long established non-profit making charity providing quality nursery school care and education for all families in the Sowerby area.  We have our own building in the grounds of Sowerby Community Primary School, with whom we have strong links.  This, and our structured curriculum helps the children transfer easily from nursery school to school.

Our aim is to provide a safe, stimulating, caring environment in which your child can develop intellectually, socially emotionally and physically.

Fees and Funding

All children are entitled to 12.5 hours per week of free (early) pre-school education.  This equates to 5 sessions per week for your child at Sowerby Nursery School.

Children become eligible for free early education from the beginning of the first term following their third birthday. 

Funding is provided by North Yorkshire County Council directly to the Nursery School.

Fees are payable for younger children who are not yet eligible for early education funding (or older children who receive some or all of their free 12.5 hours at another nursery).

Sowerby Nursery School is a not-for-profit organisation and we aim to keep fee levels as low as possible.  Please contact the Nursery for details of current fee levels or enquiries about early education funding.
